Cala El Portet
Shell-shaped bay beneath Cap d’Or with pale sand, very clear shallow water and a sheltered setting that suits families and gentle water sports.
Overview & atmosphere
Cala El Portet lies just north of Moraira in a curved bay protected by the Cap d’Or headland. The setting is one of the most distinctive on this stretch of coast: low hills, white houses and the tower on the headland frame a small beach that feels calm and scenic without being remote.
Most of the beach is sandy, with some rocky edges, and the water is often clear, shallow and comparatively gentle close to shore. That makes El Portet a strong option for families, easy swimming, stand-up paddle and first snorkelling sessions, especially on settled mornings.
Because the bay is compact, it can fill quickly in summer, but it remains a very practical beach with nearby restaurants and walking routes. If you want more than sunbathing, the coast path and the climb towards Cap d’Or add views over Moraira, the bay and, on clear days, the Peñón de Ifach.
