Cala Granadella (Xàbia/Jávea)
Famous small cove south of Xàbia with turquoise water, a pine-covered backdrop and some of the best snorkelling on this coast.
Description
Cala Granadella is one of the best-known coves on the Costa Blanca and still justifies its reputation because the setting is exceptionally complete: a compact pebble-and-rock beach, clear turquoise water and pine-covered slopes that close the bay on both sides. Even before you go into the sea, the scenery feels more dramatic than on most nearby beaches.
The cove is particularly popular for snorkelling, diving and kayaking, since the water is usually very clear and the rocky coastline invites exploration. It is not a sandy family beach in the classic sense, but it is excellent if your priority is the colour of the water, marine life and an active day on the coast.
Granadella is small, so summer demand is high and it is wise to arrive early. If you like combining beach time with walking, the nearby viewpoint and the route towards the old Granadella castle add another dimension, with wide views over the cliffs and open sea.
