Playa de l’Ampolla (Moraira)
Moraira’s main sandy beach below the castle, with calm water, an easy town-centre setting and a broad family-friendly bathing area.
Description
Playa de l’Ampolla is the urban beach of Moraira and the easiest choice if you want sea, promenade and town all within a few minutes’ walk. The beach lies south of the marina, directly below Moraira Castle, and is backed by a wide sandy stretch that feels open and comfortable rather than hidden away in a cove.
The shoreline is fine sand and the water is usually calm, with a gentle entry that suits relaxed swimming, families with children and anyone who prefers an uncomplicated beach day. Because it sits in the centre of Moraira, you can combine a swim with a walk along the promenade, lunch nearby or a short visit to the old waterfront and harbour.
A special feature is the Marjal del Senillar behind the beach, a small protected coastal wetland that adds a more natural backdrop to this otherwise urban setting. In high season the beach usually offers the most complete services in the area, so l’Ampolla works especially well if you want comfort, easy access and a classic town-beach atmosphere.
